Terms of Service
Effective date: October 7, 2026 · Version: 2026-10-08
These terms are an agreement between you and CompPrep AI ("CompPrep AI," "we," "us"), a Texas limited liability company, for use of the CompPrep AI apps, website, and advisor portal (the "Service"). Please read them; you agree to them when you check the box during sign-up.
1. Who can use CompPrep AI
- You must be 13 or older.
- If you're under 18, please review these terms with a parent or guardian. Where state law or an app store requires a parent's consent, you may use the Service only once that consent has been given through the app store.
- Advisors who create a chapter must be employees or authorized volunteers of the school or organization the chapter belongs to.
2. Your account
Sign in with Google or Apple. Keep your account secure and don't share it. You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at support@compprep.app if you think someone else is using it.
3. Chapters and roles
- Each chapter belongs to one school and one competition organization. You can be in one chapter per organization.
- Advisors manage their chapter, assign board roles, and can remove members. Board members run attendance, points, announcements, and event assignments. Members use the study tools and chapter features.
- Advisors and board members must use these tools fairly. Points and attendance changes are logged.
- We review new chapters before they go live and may reject or suspend a chapter that appears fake or breaks these terms.
4. Acceptable use
Don't:
- Upload or share official competition exams, roleplays, or other materials you don't have the right to share.
- Use the Service to cheat at a live competition.
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone, or post someone else's private information.
- Try to access data you aren't allowed to see, disrupt the Service, or scrape it.
- Use the Service for anything illegal.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
5. AI features
The AI coach, generated practice questions, and AI judge produce feedback automatically. They can make mistakes. Their scores are practice estimates, not official scores, and we don't promise any result at any competition. Check important facts against your organization's official guidelines.
6. Independence from competition organizations
CompPrep AI is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by DECA, FBLA, HOSA, TSA, BPA, SkillsUSA, FCCLA, the National Speech & Debate Association, Science Olympiad, any Model UN conference, or any other organization named in the Service. Their names are used only to describe which competitions our content helps you prepare for. Practice content is written by us or generated by AI; it is not official material.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of what you create (for example, your written practice responses). You give us permission to store, process, and display it only as needed to run the Service for you and your chapter. We don't use it to train AI models.
8. Our content
The app, its design, and its practice content belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own studying and your chapter's activities. Don't copy, resell, or redistribute them.
9. Paid plans
- CompPrep AI is free to use. Students in a chapter with a plan never pay.
- Chapter plans and chapter boosts are bought by advisors, schools, or districts by card or invoice. Chapter plans do not renew automatically; we send a reminder before your plan ends and nothing is charged unless you pay.
- Pro and the season boost are optional for students whose chapter isn't on a plan. Pro is a subscription that renews automatically each month or year until you cancel; you can cancel anytime in the app. New Pro members get a 7-day free trial (card required), and you won't be charged if you cancel before it ends. If you're under 18, get a parent or guardian's permission before buying.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before purchase, including any taxes. There are no hidden fees.
- Refunds follow our Refund Policy, including an automatic refund of unused Pro time if you join a chapter with a paid plan.
10. Ending your use
You can delete your account anytime in Profile. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
11. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep the Service accurate and available, but it is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties such as merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived.
12. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50.
13. Disputes
Please contact us first at support@compprep.app; most problems can be solved quickly. These terms are governed by Texas law. Any court case will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Fort Bend County, Texas, unless the law gives you the right to sue somewhere else.
14. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we'll tell you in the app and ask you to agree before continuing.
