Refund Policy
Effective date: October 7, 2026
CompPrep AI is free to use. Students in a chapter with a plan never pay. This policy covers chapter plans and boosts bought by advisors, and the optional Pro plan and season boost for students whose chapter isn't on a plan.
Full refund in the first 30 days
If you're not happy for any reason, email billing@compprep.app within 30 days of payment and we'll refund 100% of what you paid.
After 30 days: prorated refund
After 30 days, we refund the unused full months left on your plan. Example: a 12-month plan canceled after 4 months and 10 days gets 7 months refunded.
How refunds work
- Email billing@compprep.app from the account that bought the plan, with your chapter name or invoice number.
- We confirm within 2 business days and send the refund to the original payment method. Banks usually post it within 5–10 business days.
- Schools that paid by check or purchase order are refunded by the same method.
- We don't charge cancellation or processing fees.
Chapter plans don't renew automatically
Chapter plans don't renew on their own. We send a renewal reminder before your plan ends, and nothing is charged unless you pay.
Pro for students
- Price: $7.99 a month or $49 a year, shown before you pay. Pro renews automatically until you cancel.
- Free trial: new Pro members get 7 days free. A card is required. Cancel anytime during the trial and you won't be charged.
- Cancel anytime in the app (Profile → Your plan → Manage or cancel). You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- Joining a paid chapter: if you join a chapter with a paid plan, we cancel your Pro and automatically refund the unused part of your current period. You don't need to ask.
- First 14 days: if Pro isn't what you expected, email billing@compprep.app within 14 days of your first charge for a full refund.
Season boosts
The $4.99 student boost (2 weeks) and $49 chapter boost (30 days) start right away. Email billing@compprep.app within 3 days if you bought one by mistake and we'll refund it.
